Kindle for Kids

I have a 2-year old niece who would trade any toy or candy around her in exchange of an iPad. She also has a knack for cell phones, Kindle or any other devices that has a screen she can play with. For some reason, gadgets never fail to amaze anyone of any age.

Parents are skeptical about the idea of giving gadgets to their kids. However, Kindle is totally different from any other devices around. It is built for reading and it should encourage kids to read more by having quick access to any books they like from Amazon’s Kindle for Kids. Since it is a gadget using high technology, you can be sure that they will start reading books as soon as you give it to them as a gift.

Kindle features text-to-speech which can help kids pronounce unfamiliar words better. It is also a function that will allow them to play with something else while they are listening to the voice reading the text for them.

In addition, Kindle also comes with a built-in dictionary that will surely enrich their vocabulary. Unlike reading from real books or computers where you need to exert some effort to look up for the meaning of a word, Kindle automatically displays a word’s meaning at the bottom of the screen if they move the cursor beside the word that they don’t understand.

Kindle is also great for entertaining your kids, especially when you need to travel for a long period of time. Since you can download eBooks from anywhere, you don’t worry about them getting bored with one or two books. If you will give your kid a Kindle Fire, he or she can also play with games that are also available from Amazon.

For kids who are already going to school, Kindle comes in handy for their research since it allows them to highlight important passages and take annotations. If they need to bring some personal documents to school, they can simply send it to their Kindle email as attachment and it will be downloaded on the device without being charged.

Some parents also worry that their kids may not be able to take care of it. While Amazon built it using the highest standard, you can also consider adding warranty to your cart when you purchase Kindle. The 2- year Protection Plan will only cost you $29.99 on top of Kindles' cost.

Another option is to get a leather cover that will protect Kindle from minor impacts and scratches. You can choose a leather cover that comes with a stand, a sleeve that’s a bit inexpensive, or a Kindle case that’s made with silicon.

There are a lot of protective covers that comes in different color and materials that you can find from Amazon. If you haven’t purchased a Kindle, just add it to your cart before checking out.

And did I mention that Kindle is made with the latest e-Ink technology? Unlike other devices that can be harmful to your kid’s eyes, e-Ink screen is easy on the eyes. It is exactly the same as reading from a real book with the use of modern technology.
